Our Purpose, Philosophy, Goals and Objectives

2.9 to 5 needs of children years of age.  Children learn
exploration.  These experiences enhance and enrich the
experiences enhance and enrich the child's cognitive,
cognitive, language, language, social, emotional, creative
creative and physical development.  We view children as
development.  We view children as individuals and
children as individuals and acknowledge that each child
    develops at their own pace.

Through play, children simultaneously have the
opportunity to create, explore, learn to problem solve,
gain independence and develop personal interaction
skills.  We offer a balance of solitary play and group
    activities.

The classroom is set up to stimulate cognitive and
language development.  Providing a print rich
environment will encourage children to become aware of
symbols such as letters, numbers, etc. which leads to the
beginning of preprinting and reading skills.

Staff serve as positive role models and provide care that
is supportive, nurturing and responsive to the child's
individual needs.  We believe that parents and teachers
are partners in each child's care and development.

The staff is also supportive in the development of positive
feelings and self-esteem.  Emphasis is put on practicing
skills and establishing a positive attitude towards
learning.  We do not believe in "I CAN'T DO IT."  Our
belief is "We need to try and with practice, we'll get it
    right."

We do not discriminate against race, religion, cultural
heritage, national origin, sexual orientation, political
beliefs, marital status or disabilities.  We will maintain a
    non-competitive, nonjudgmental atmosphere in which
children may develop a positive image.

    Patterns:  Ideas For Learning Experiences

    * use pattern cards to reproduce
patterns with concrete objects such as
beads, colored cubes, mosaic tiles with
    pattern cards.

    * find patterns in their everyday
    environment (plaid, stripes, checks on
    clothing, floors or walls).

    * repeat a pattern/sequence in a
variety of ways (e.g., an ABAB pattern
    with stickers, blocks, or stamps).

    * manipulate objects in and out of
    patterns.

    * recognize and predict word patterns
in familiar rhythms, music or stories.
